- WBC
- Date:
- Venue:
- Toyota Arena in Tokyo
Prediction: Tenshin Nasukawa on Points
Result: Takuma Inoue by Points
I though Nasukawa would win this in a very competitive fight, but instead we got a really good performance from Inoue. Nasukawa looked great early with great speed and combination work. His judge of distance looked great and he honestly looked like a superstar. The commentators were talking about if Inoue could deal with his “boxing IQ” and that’s when I laughed. Boxing IQ is about making adjustments and that’s exactly what Inoue did in this fight. He locked in with those adjustments in round 4 and honestly never looked back. He pretty much dominated the fight with his boxing ability after and Nasukawa had no adjustments to make. Inoue showed him what it means to be a top level boxer and it was great to see. Nasukawa is still very young crazily enough and can still come back to win a title, but this was too early for him in his pro boxing career.
