Prediction: Tyson Fury on Points
Result: Oleksandr Usyk by Points
The first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years was crowned and it was Oleksandr Usyk. Tyson Fury tried but couldn’t stop the Ukrainian from achieving his dreams. Usyk started off strong with some good early rounds but Fury started to grow in the fight. Fury had a good stretch but then Usyk made some adjustments and it was back to being his fight before he hurt Fury so badly that it should’ve been stopped. He was robbed of a stoppage by an inadequate referee but he kept fighting and won the rest of the fight. In my opinion it wasn’t a very close fight especially because of Usyk’s knockdown but I was nervous for the scorecards and it turns out I was right to be. They tried to rob Usyk and nearly did as somehow the result of this fight was a split decision with one judge inexplicably giving the fight to Fury. That is corruption on the highest order and I can’t believe it. Well done to Usyk though as he couldn’t be beat tonight and has crowned himself as the P4P #1 fighter in the world.
