What a weird turn of events as Garcia takes out Barrios in a shut out. He boxed pretty well here and showed his speed and power. Watching this I imagined an alternate reality where Garcia fully utilised his potential throughout his career. Instead we live in a world where he just got dominated by the worst champion in boxing last year, and now comes out to dominate the second worst champion in boxing. Barrios has never been world champion material but a solid fringe contender. Never should’ve been champion and he proved that when he arguably lost to a retired Pacquiao and Ramos. Still, solid win for Garcia as he made a good come back. Looked great out the gate but he slowed down a lot and somehow couldn’t get Barrios out of there. Crazy that this was a better outcome than Tank vs Barrios. He stopped him but also was tied on my card against him. Who knows but I am really hoping Garcia does not pop dirty in the coming weeks. That would suck. Having a good Ryan Garcia in boxing is good for the sport, but he’s so awfully inconsistent. A pretty good performance right after one of the worst performances conceivable. Wish he could actually put his punches together to get a stoppage though.
